When I think of deserts, the first animal that comes to mind is the camel and when I think of cold areas, the first is the polar bear. I was thinking about this today and just realized that the natural habitat of both of them are polar opposites (no pun intended). I consulted Google and learnt that they both have features or adaptations that make them thrive in the very different but extreme conditions they are in.
I began asking myself questions like: what if the polar bear wants to migrate to the Sahara? or the camel to the Antarctica? Almost immediately, I realized that they won’t survive long. What did this teach me? And how does this relate to us?
Human beings like to copy. We see people ‘making waves’ in a particular area and suddenly, we want to go there too. See, what works for somebody doesn’t have to work for you. Some work better without external pressure while some others actually need pressure to be able to work. Some can survive in a particular occupation while some others can’t.
The most important thing at the end is that we find happiness and purpose in whatever we do and in whatever way we do them. I just want you to have it at the back of your mind that it doesn’t have to work for you too! Be your own person! Create your own path! In Nigeria, we say ‘dey your dey’. Friends, just ‘dey your lane’!
Please STAY! Just stay where you are at and as long as you are working hard, it will work out perfectly well for you. Just stay right there.
